Banana: Increasing water efficiency on tissue culture nursery

The experiment takes place in Maharashtra Seed Company R&D. The aim is to demonstrate the role of the Aquasorb substrate in the growth of banana plants in greenhouses.

METHODOLOGY

  • Soil type – Black Cotton Soil
  • Period – Month May 2020 (extreme hot and dry)
  • Weather temp ranging from 38°c to 45°c
  • Aquasorb used in tissue culture Banana during green house nursury stage
  • 192 plants treated with Aquasorb, 192 control plants

Conclusion

Aquasorb helps to significantly reduce watering frequency in banana tissue culture nursery and helped in getting better plant growth and uniformity.
